the OSPREY origin story
A family cabin in McCall first introduced me (McKay Turnbull, founder) to the Osprey. Surrounding the perimeter of Payette lake you’ll find meticulous, massive nests on impossibly high, scrawny branches. From these nests, athletic birds launch off to hunt for fish at up to 80 mph.
These birds exist in my peripheral memories growing up. Swiftly soaring above as we tubed or wake surfed from lake end to end. Their calm, fierce flight a constant in the summer naturescape. In winter, when the lake freezes over and the air grows silent from far off vacationers, you’ll see the nests patiently waiting the return of the migratory birds.
The Osprey is a reliable bird of prey. Diving feet first from up to one hundred feet it does what it was built to do – hunt fish with impeccable aim and endurance. As I approach the industry of building homes, I strive to align myself with such precision….

MCKAY TURNBULL
President
Born and raised in Eagle, Idaho, McKay has always known he wanted to build homes that enrich the communities that shaped him. Over the years, his career has taken him across the country, where he gained valuable experience before returning home to establish Osprey Homes. With a family legacy in building and development, McKay blends time-tested wisdom with fresh ideas to create homes that stand apart. McKay lives in Meridian with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys sports on and off the water and exploring his passion for history through reading and traveling.
JUSTIN VALDEZ
Vice President
Justin developed his love for construction and his strong work ethic at a young age, working alongside his dad in residential concrete. After studying biochemistry and gaining management experience in manufacturing, he realized his true fulfillment came from building homes that stand the test of time. With years of hands-on experience and construction management expertise, Justin joined McKay to establish Osprey Homes, where he fosters a culture of service, innovation, and discipline.
He lives in Treasure Valley with his wife and three children. The family loves calling Idaho home and enjoys sports, archery, and home renovation projects together.
